Western Village is a 55+ Retirement Community in the heart of Oak Harbor, on the North end of Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest. The park is situated on 14 beautifully landscaped acres within walking distance of shops, grocery stores, pharmacies, and North Whidbey Medical Center. All of Western Village’s utilities are underground and include Services by Puget Sound Energy, Cascade Natural Gas, Frontier Phone Service, and Comcast Digital Cable and High Speed Internet Service. WiFi is also available for a monthly fee from a private carrier.
The Whidbey Naval Air Station is to the north of the park as is beautiful Deception Pass State Park. There are several City State and County parks on the island with walking paths, beach access, fishing, camping and scenic vistas of nearby Mount Baker and the San Juan Islands.
Island Transit provides free bus service to the entire island, and if needed, also provides a Para transit service to shopping and medical appointments.
The Deception Pass Bridge on the north end of the Island takes you to Fidalgo Island and beautiful Anacortes, Washington where you can board Washington State Ferries which will take you to many of Washington’s San Juan Islands, and Canada.
The Port Townsend / Coupeville Ferry mid Island will take you to Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula where you can visit old town shops and inns or travel to Port Angeles, Sequim, and explore the many little places on the Olympic Peninsula and the Olympic National Park, including places like Dosewallups, Chimacum, Quilicene, the Hoh Rain Forest, Sol Duc Hot Springs, Cape Alava and many others.
The Clinton / Mukilteo Ferry on the south end of the Island will take you to Mukilteo on the mainland and major shopping and medical centers in Everett and Seattle.
